I have some money from my high school graduation, and I would like to invest it in some stocks, but I want some quick results, so I am thinking about day trading. Buying penny stocks recommended on www.timothysykes.com and trading them as they go up in price, just like he does. I am ready for losses, but I am also ready for gains. Anyone have any ideas or recommendations for me? BTW, I do plan on being a stock broker when I am ready to enter the business world, when I am done with college.

I would like to start investing in stocks, but with so many options I don’t exactly know where to start. All that I know is that I am looking for a moderate return, nothing crazy. I am also more inclined to do active trading (but maybe not day trading, since I don’t have enough time). I am not looking however to hold stocks for years. I also don’t intend to buy penny stocks.

I don’t plan to blindly follow tips, and. As I still remember the time when a so called “financial advisor” suggested that I put most of my 401K money into XYZ internet stocks. This was in the late 90’s, and you know the rest of the story. Thanks god I resisted at that time!

I know that trading is not an easy thing, but I want to give it a try (and I’ll try to be carefull?). Where should I start looking? What’s your experience?

Thanks

Been Investing for a little while, but still new to it. I want to get into day trading. I hold quite alot of long term investments, and have made a lot with them. Now with some of the profit i have made i want to use it to day trade. I was wondering what online firm people find easier to use for day trading, which one has cheap commissions for day trading, and cheap commissions for penny stock, on the Pinks and the OTCB. Also if anyone has a few tips for day trading that would be great to. One last thing, any recommendations of any books i should read before entering the day trading market?
Thank You.

Buy at 8 or 9 cents sell at 11 or 13 cent.

Is this a good stock to do some day trading with?

I would like to start investing in the stock market. I am talking about active trading (but not day trading!). Something like holding stocks for multiple days or weeks (I think it’s called position trading). Since there are so many stocks out there, I don’t know where to start. I plan to stay away from penny stocks for sure. I am looking for a moderate return, nothing crazy. I don’t plan to blindly follow tips however. I remember a tip that was given to me by a "so called financial" advisor back in 1999, where he suggested that I invest more of my 401K in Internet stocks. At that time, I resisted to do so!.

I would appreciate any advice of where to look. What’s Your experience?

Thanks
Mutual Funds is what I have already in my 401k. I don’t plan to touch that.

I am also not planning to do day trading, becuase of the high risk and lack of time (I have a day job). It looks like I will be doing what they call position trading (buy and sell in the time frame of weeks-months).

Which online broker do you recommend?
etrade, Scottrade,…?

Basically, I’m in my senior year of college, and I know that after next year I’d like to be active in the stock market by investing and small time day trading. Right now though, I’m looking to make a very, very, minimal investment (or a small stock purchase) just to figure out how the online trade game works.

What I’m trying to do is put about 0 total into some form or accumulation of multiple penny stocks, and just use it to track a portfolio that has real money involved (simulators, like online poker, do nothing for me – if it isn’t real I just don’t care).

So what I’m looking for is basically a 0 minimum balance site to try out trading with, just to get my feet wet. I know I’ll take about a hit per trade even for little to no stock, but its a loss I’m willing to cope with for now.

Tips/pointers/etc.? And where to start? Thanks.
